Hi Mike, it's Nina from Maryland. Of course I know the song (although I am a small # of years younger than you!) but I have actually never taught with it... you are right, it's perfect!
I think I'll begin with a video edit of pictures reflecting the vocabulary, and can/can't, (using the song as the soundtrack of course). So unless somebody has another idea about how to start, this is where I will go. If you or anyone else wants to contribute illustrative pictures, we all get a credit at the end of the video. I hope that will provide enough motivation to get a small team collaborating.
It's an interesting challenge - trying to give meaning to students through images, without falling into Rosetta Stone's boring approach to same. I'm sure there will be a lot of funny pictures in this edit...
